Heading Home

Now to continue this tagging game, I'm supposed to tag 8 more people. However, the bloggers I follow have already been tagged. But if anyone out there reading this wants to be tagged, either for the first time or once again, consider it done. And let me know so I can read them.

I'll be heading back to my home town on Thursday for my 30th high school reunion. This is an American ritual in which we go back to see the adults our peers became and to see if we look better than they do. So I've been dieting (lost a bit of weight), got a spray tan (I AM going to Florida. I don't want to look all pasty with everyone else looking tan). I'll be staying on the beach for two days with my friend J., who is the only one I've kept in contact with from those days. No kids. No husbands. Just the girls. I'm looking forward to it. Then I have to see all my family, which expands by the year. They all keep reproducing. I told them there's such a thing as birth control. Hubby will be holding up the fort here on his own. It'll be interesting to see how he gets on. I'm back on Wednesday and will let you know all about it.

Reunions! We love 'em, we hate 'em. A bunch of people trying to subtly one-up each other. My high school 30th is still several years away, but a group of my college classmates is planning one that'll include several classes from the late 80s to early 90s. It's for next year and is another reason I'd like to lose some serious poundage. Funny how the prospect of seeing folks from my skinny days propells me to action.

BTW, I tried WW once and had marginal success before getting knocked up with baby No. 2. I belong to a gym now and I like it a lot, that is when I can force my fat "a" to go. Thanks for the input.

Does tagging mean listing someone in your blog list? I don't get it. I'm so hopeless!

OMG! I've only just read the rest of your blog post. Was distracted by the tagging...

YOU HAVE GUTS!! I would never go to a reunion. I would rather die. WOW!! I can't wait to hear what happens. Tell us about the old boyfriends. And about the ones you fancied and never got - are they all wrinkly now?... And does that make you feel satisfied? heh heh

You are braver than I; not sure I would attend a reunion but, maybe, if a trip to Florida were involved, I might be tempted.

Have a great time and a good break!

I don't know, the reunion thing sounds a bit dodgy. But the holiday on the beach thing sounds great. Have a brilliant time. Careful of the sun...I want to hear all about how you looked better than everyone else when you return.

I couldn't wait to leave school. Being one of those 'always sits at the back' kids, I'm sure my teachers were having a party when I finally made my exit. I know some can be very successful though so I hope yours goes well. There's no doubt the beach will be wonderful anyway. Crystal xx

Enjoy, but bear in mind every movie I've ever seen about them involves some intensely depressing moments!

Agree with you CJ. I too was at the back. What a miserable little git to be sure.

I missed my 20th reunion... deliberatly! I so do not want to be reminded that it is 20 (+) years since high school. Hope you had a fab time though...

Oh, the dread of reunions, but hope you had fun.
Just read blogs below and I really enjoyed the whole Colin debate with Snuffy. And don't apologise for offering your opinion - it's as valid as anyone elses!
