Don't Look in the Mirror

Now here are two faces I'm glad I don't have to see first thing every morning. Plus I'd have to wear jewelry from QVC. I have a friend who bought a brooch from QVC (actually she buys everything from QVC; she watches QVC for relaxation). Anyway, this brooch is a monkey with a ring round its neck that reaches across her chest. It is the most repulsive thing. Just thought I'd share that. I don't know what made me think about Joan Rivers, but on YouTube there's a hilarious interview she did with Brigitte Nielsen.

Yesterday I posted that the rotten correspondent had very kindly bestowed the Blogging that Hits the Mark award upon me. I'd like to pass it on to Pixie, Queen Vixen (who wrote a very original post comparing her blog friends with cheeses. I'm Brie, I think, which is a good thing because I love Brie), Lady Macleod, and DJ Kirby. I love these awards. Don't know what they stand for or if they stand for anything, but it's fun to receive and pass them and see them passed on by the people I've passed them on to (are you still with me?).

UPDATE ON THE PUPPY

No, I don't have one yet, but hubby seems to have finally come round. I explained that I realised I would be the one with the primary responsibility and I mentioned some breeds, well one breed -- border collie. "Oh," he said, "those can be lovely dogs." (I'm no fool, members of his family have had border collies.) Deal done. I thank all of you who voted in my poll. Interestingly, not one person voted "No, your husband will run away."

I bet you can't wait for a new pup! Collies are very demanding as you probably know. They need lots of attention and lots and lots of exercise. But they are wonderful companions. Faithful and adorable and I wouldn't be without my two. I will post a picture soon on my blog page, of Sparky and Molly when they were mere pups.

My comment is actually about a past post (the questionnaire) but I'm posting here in case you're a slacker like me and forget to scroll down to check comments on past posts. :)

About writing a book - have you heard of NaNoWriMo? It's a personal challenge - to write 50,000 words in the month of November. If you have a plot idea or characters you've been thinking about for a while, it's a great way to get out the guts of the story. I did it last year and even though I've completed two novels, it was still a challenging and interesting experience and I found it really helpful.

CJ: I look forward to the pix.

Vi: I could be really nasty and show lots of pictures of my friend's -ahem- wardrobe. I even have a video of her I could post on YouTube. But I couldn't do that to a friend. Or could I?

-ann: Welcome to my blog and thank you for the info. I just might give it a go.

puppies are so wonderful - but VERY hard work. I was glad when our Moll was house trained but she was so wonderful - can;t imagine life without her now.

Oh dear, Bridgett is a advertizment for staying away from the camera after aging! Crikes she looks dreadful. Rivers, while crass, has a great plastic surgeon don't you think - yes, true she has overdone it, by two or three times..

Thank you for the award! I'm with you, it is so very nice to receive them and to pass them on. You are a love to think of me, and you KNOW how I love getting awards!

Congratulations to you as well! and on the puppy, photographs please.

Why would he run away now? Wait until the puppy arrives and pees on the carpet, and chews his favourite shoes/tie/underpants. He might think about it then....(can you tell I write from experience???!!!)

flowerpot: are puppies more hard work than kids?

mind the gap: You must find the video clip on YouTube of when Brigitte was a guest on Joan's show. Hilarious!

Lady M: I'd be very unhappy if I resembled either one of them. Joan Rivers looks like she wears a mask, and the other one should wear one.

kelly: Ssshhhh! None of that stuff will happen in our house because I'm going to be very good with the puppy. So I told my husband.

Is it just me or is there something seriously wrong with Brigitte Nielson? She looks like she was poured hot and ran. Kind of gives me the heebies just looking at her.

Puppy pictures! We want puppy pictures. (I realize they'll be easier to take once there is an actual puppy).

RC: Imagine if Joan Rivers' face were on Brigitte Nielsen's body? AGGGHHHHHH!!!!! VERY SCARY!!!! I'm awaiting emails of pix of puppies I've called about. Might go see one on Friday.

God, those women are scary....and make me feel a hell of a lot better about myself actually!

But now then, the dog....are you sure? Really sure? I only say this as have come to my computer fresh from rubbing tomato ketchup all over Asbo Jack (our dog) - allegedly it gets rid of the smell of fox poo. Though this was dog poo he'd rolled in. he is now howling.
Border collies? Even worse, if that is possible. Aghhhhh....... sorry but just aaagghhhhhhhh. We had one that chewed through everything -EVERYTHING. carpet, vinyl flooring, electricity wires (sadly didn't electrocute itself), telephone wires (couldn't call out the electrician), cushions.....
They need TONS of exercise or get bored and eat things.
How about a nice stuffed dog? YOu could stroke it, talk to it but no crap, no chewing, no biting (Collie pups have THE sharpest teeth).
Sorry.....I am in a minority here but seriously, if you want to keep your sanity - get fish. though, come to think of it.....aquaria get messy, need cleaning out....

OK, enough already...Heroes is coming on and if I turn up the volume really high I won't hear the dog wailing. jx

exmoorjane: you're ruining my fantasy. I am home all day and can take the dog for walks. I figure one in the morning, one in the afternoon and possibly one in the evening. Shouldn't that be enough? I'm a big Heroes fan too.
